91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ celebrates Dean Michael Hunter Schwartz as he returns to teaching

More than 200 people gathered April 16th at the Sacramento Campus Student Center to celebrate Dean Michael Hunter Schwartz, the 10th dean of the 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ McGeorge School of Law, as he steps down and makes a return to faculty.

During his eight years as dean, Schwartz has overseen the law school’s highest bar pass rate in 25 years, secured one of the 15 largest gifts in the history of U.S. legal education and established a philanthropic legacy to benefit students experiencing food insecurity through the . His leadership and commitment have served McGeorge School of Law and positioned the school for continued excellence.

Schwartz will offer support and guidance to Michael T. Colatrella Jr., professor of law and the inaugural Tracy A. Eglet Chair, when he becomes dean July 1.

Dean Schwartz's daughters and their partners flew in from Los Angeles and Philadelphia to celebrate his accomplishments. 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ans, alumni and regents also attended the event traveling from all over the country – including Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange County.

The celebration included remarks from four speakers and a surprise song performance.
