When you pursue an electrical engineering degree at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, you'll explore a wide range of topics, from communication and automatic control systems to developing machine learning and AI systems for controlling complex systems. This broad understanding of engineering will allow you to communicate your ideas to others in the field and adapt to rapidly changing technology. 

Throughout your time at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, you’ll work with a faculty mentor to develop a curriculum plan based around your interests and skills. Whether it’s renewable energy systems or motor control, electrical engineering electives provide avenues for exploration within this broad, dynamic field. 


The Electrical Engineering (B.S.) program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, , under the commission's General Criteria and the Program Criteria for Electrical, Computer, Communications, Telecommunication(s), and Similarly Named Engineering Programs.

Monica transferred to 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ from a local community college as a math major but decided to take up electrical engineering. She believed it would help her have a bigger impact on people’s lives. As a student in the SOECS Co-Op program, she interned with the medical device company, Abbott Laboratories, where she got to work on an update to a heart pump for a client in Korea. 

Turning theory into practice

As you work toward your electrical engineering degree at 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½, you'll have opportunities to participate in undergraduate research projects, compete in student competitions and collaborate with your peers on real-world projects. Our senior design project requires you to apply your engineering knowledge to solve a practical problem, providing invaluable hands-on experience.

91³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€™s state-of-the-art electrical engineering labs are equipped with the latest tools and technology, which allow you to work with circuits, test equipment, design microcontrollers, robots, control systems, energy conversion, power electronics and the latest software.

Earn while you learn

As you earn your electrical engineering degree, you have the option to complete a  
two-academic term, paid CO-OP working in a related industry and earn an average of $3,700 a month. This professional experience gives you a competitive edge in the engineering job market. 

Dual-degree programs

Electrical Engineering Program Educational Objectives

Through their careers in electrical engineering or related profession, 91³ÉÈ˵¼º½ graduates are expected to demonstrate the following within a few years of earning their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering:

  • Competency in the electrical engineering profession via promotion to positions of increasing responsibility, publications, and/or conference presentations
  • Adaptability to new developments in science and technology by successfully completing or pursuing graduate education in engineering or related fields, participating in professional development and/or industrial training courses, or pursuing professional licensure.


Electrical Engineering Student Outcomes

Upon graduation, graduates will have:

  1.  an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  2. an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
  3. an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  4. an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
  5. an ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
  6. an ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  7. an ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies
