U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to visit McGeorge School of Law for special sitting
The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit will hold a special sitting on Wednesday, February 21 at the 91成人导航 McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California.
Oral arguments will be livestreamed and begin at 10 a.m. PST in the law school鈥檚 Lecture Hall, 3200 5th Ave. A valid photo ID is required for admittance.
The panel will consist of the Hon. Johnnie B. Rawlinson, '79; the Hon. Consuelo M. Callahan, '75; and the Hon. Morrison C. England Jr., '83, who will sit by designation.
Cases on the docket are:
- USA v. Armando Calderon, an appeal from conviction for conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and carrying a firearm during and in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime. Case No. 22-10024
- 聽Justin Hart v. Facebook, Inc., an appeal of a dismissal of an action against Facebook Inc., Twitter, and federal agencies and officials, alleging defendants conspired to suppress plaintiff鈥檚 free speech in regard to his COVID-19 social media posts. Case No. 23-15858
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit hears appeals of cases decided by certain executive branch agencies and federal trial courts in nine western states and two 91成人导航 island jurisdictions. The court meets monthly in San Francisco and Pasadena, California; with regular sittings in Seattle and Portland, Oregon; as well as special sittings at other federal courthouses in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Honolulu and Anchorage, Alaska.
