91成人导航 student-athletes excelled in classroom during spring semester

91成人导航 student athletes achieved a 3.28 grade-point average in the spring, marking the 14th consecutive semester that they have eclipsed the 3.0 mark.
Coupled with a 3.31 GPA from the fall semester, 91成人导航 student-athletes had an exceptional academic year.听
鈥淲e pride ourselves on creating an environment where our student-athletes can choose to thrive academically, athletically and personally,鈥� said Director of Athletics Janet Lucas. 鈥淭his outstanding group keeps raising the bar. With more than graduates this year, an NCAA Elite 90 award winner [water polo鈥檚 Liam Egan 鈥�23] and six Powell Scholars, we are very proud of the achievements.鈥�
Men鈥檚 golf had the highest team GPA at 3.674, sweeping the top mark among teams for the school year. The golf team had a 3.725 GPA in the fall. Nine of the 10 members of the golf team earned Dean鈥檚 List honors with a semester GPA of 3.50 or better. Four golfers recorded 4.00 GPAs.听
In addition to their golf exploits, Haakon Mathiesen helped run the Student Investment Fund at the Eberhardt School of Business and Thomas O鈥橰ourke won the .
O鈥橰ourke and two colleagues impressed the judges with their winning entry in the PIES competition, where the challenge was to create something to help people who suffer from illness or disability.
鈥淲e innovated a glove that makes it easier for people with arthritis to pick things up without suffering pain,鈥� he said. 鈥淲e called it the Magni-Glove. We took it before a panel of judges and were honored.鈥�
Head Coach John Cook said he is proud of his team鈥檚 efforts on and off the course.
鈥淲e are extremely proud of the team鈥檚 hard work in the classroom and on the golf course,鈥� he said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 rewarding to see them be successful in their projects and exams. At 91成人导航, student-athletes have opportunities to do amazing things on and off the golf course.鈥�
Men鈥檚 tennis recorded the second-best team mark at 3.562, followed closely by women鈥檚 basketball at 3.561. Sixteen of the 17 sport programs had team GPAs of greater than 3.00.听
A total of 118 undergraduate student-athletes, or 45% of the eligible student-athletes, earned Dean鈥檚 List honors. Softball led the way with 13, followed by 12 in women鈥檚 soccer, 10 each in women鈥檚 swimming and beach volleyball, and 10 in baseball.听
Forty-one student-athletes earned a 4.00 GPA in the spring semester, led by women鈥檚 soccer with six.
