Dr. Charles Kaye-Essien has expertise in State/local and regional governance; Public sector performance management; Program evaluation; Community development; Environmental and Social Impact Assessment; Sustainability and resilience management (water, infrastructure, food systems) and Global South urbanism and development.
BIOGRAPHY
Kaye-Essien is an international scholar and consultant broadly trained on issues at the intersection of urban, environmental and public affairs. He has previously worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Public Policy, University of Connecticut. Prior to this position, he was the Assistant Professor and MPA Director at the School of Global and Public Policy, American University in Cairo-Egypt. He also taught at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota and Sullivan College in Kentucky.
His research, often informed by life experiences in communities impacted by resource insecurities,Ìýhave been published in a variety of international journals including: International Public management Journal, International Journal of Public Sector Management, the Journal of Asian and African Affairs, Urban Forum, and the International Development Planning Review.
He has served as a reviewer for high impact journals like Nature,ÌýAdministration & Society,ÌýJournal of Public Affairs,ÌýJournal of Asian and African Affairs,ÌýFeminist Media Studies, and State and Local Government. He is a DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) scholar with substantial practitioner experience as a Policy Consultant to UNICEF – Egypt and Development Pathways of UK.
