History of the Gallery
The Reynolds Gallery, named for longtime professor of art and chair of the department Richard Reynolds, found its current home when the Jeannette Powell Art Center was dedicated in 2000. The JPAC is current home to the Department of Media, Performance and Design.
The Reynolds hosts exhibitions, installations, performances, and workshops featuring a wide range of media and theoretical perspectives. In recent years these have included Guillermo Gomez-Pena, Tressa Jones, Gregory Kondos, Richard Yip, Carolyn Lord & Peggi Kroll-Roberts, James Bailey, Ning Hou, Ann Schnake, John & Leah Harper, Ron Pecchenino, Dennis DeHart, and Jillian Sosko. The gallery serves as important regional venue, featuring borrowed exhibits  ‘Bittersweet Harvest’ about the Bracero Program from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, and collaborating with university partners like the Jacoby Center for ‘Singgalot: The Ties that Bind.’Â
