TED, an acronym for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, was founded in 1984. It features brief yet powerful talks designed to motivate individuals to take action within their communities.

TEDx events, which are licensed and organized locally, create opportunities for people to connect and exchange ideas in a similar format to TED.

鈥淭EDx on a college campus provides students, faculty and the broader community with a platform to share ideas, inspire innovation and foster intellectual growth,鈥 said Assistant Vice President for Student Life Josh O鈥機onnor. 鈥淭EDx encourages intellectual and creative expression, builds a culture of innovation and leadership, while enhancing college engagement and community building.鈥

Last year鈥檚 inaugural TEDx event drew in more than 500 attendees.

The event also offers a hands-on learning experience for students in 91成人导航's Media Arts and Production department, which equips students for careers in both traditional and digital media.

鈥淲orking on the TEDxUo91成人导航 event taught me how to organize a team and recruit specialists, skills valuable in a professional setting,鈥 said TEDx student intern Lai Laam Shiu '26.

鈥淏eing a part of the TEDxUo91成人导航 marketing team and camera crew allowed me to gain experience with advanced equipment and foster eagerness to develop new skills.
