91成人导航's reenergized pep band lifts the community to new heights

For decades, 91成人导航's pep band has been a cornerstone of school spirit, rallying the 91成人导航 community at the university's most significant events. This year, championed by President Christopher Callahan, the pep band is experiencing a revival with a dynamic ensemble of 42 talented student musicians.

鈥淭he music at the events has a powerful impact on everyone in the stands鈥攕tudents, fans and attendees of all ages,鈥 said Associate Professor of Practice Jonathan Latta 鈥00.

After experiencing a significant decline in numbers following the COVID-19 pandemic, the band was struggling to get more participants.

The band has since been revitalized with fresh, new music, upgraded instruments and state-of-the-art tech gear鈥攕parking a renewed enthusiasm among the students as they perform.

鈥淏eing a part of the pep band means I can contribute to the school spirit, which I absolutely enjoy,鈥 said music education major,聽Tristan McMichael 鈥25.

A generous gift from Robert Gross '66, '82, a conservatory alumnus and former pep band member, will further support the band. Gross's gift underscores the lasting impact the pep band had on him and will help to ensure the band鈥檚 legacy for years to come. Learn more about his gift and how to support the band.聽
