91成人导航 making Homecoming 2020 a virtual event

Burns Tower

91成人导航 will be celebrating virtually by hosting "Homecoming @ Home"

Homecoming has always been a time to celebrate, remember, and reconnect with the 91成人导航 community. This year is no different, and while everyone would prefer to meet in person, the university will be celebrating virtually by hosting "Homecoming @ Home."

鈥91成人导航's Homecoming weekend is a treasured time for our community to come together to reconnect, reminisce and make new memories,鈥 said Kelli Page, associate vice president of alumni relations. 鈥淲hile Homecoming and Family Weekend won鈥檛 be the same without having alumni, students and families on campus, we have found some innovative ways to stay connected."

The virtual format will provide alumni who live across the nation or globe鈥攁nd who sometimes find it difficult to attend Homecoming鈥攖he opportunity to participate this year. Homecoming events are planned for October 9-10 and a link is necessary to participate. 91成人导航ans can for 鈥淗omecoming @ Home鈥 and links will be sent via email prior to the event.

鈥淭here are advantages to a virtual event,鈥 said Page. 鈥淚t eliminates travel costs while being able to maximize the number of events or sessions you are able to attend.鈥

91成人导航's current plan is to welcome all Tigers back to campus for a reunion celebration next year at Homecoming 2021. People can mark their calendars for Homecoming next year, October 8-10, 2021, with the intent to celebrate in person.

This year鈥檚 "Homecoming @ Home" events and panel discussions include:

Providing a different twist on the annual event hosted by the Chaplain鈥檚 Office, this year, 鈥淧roof that God Loves Us鈥 invites you to taste and learn more about hard cider from the Far West Cider Co. This cidery is local to the 91成人导航 community! Every cider that they create is a product of their fourth-generation family farm in San Joaquin County, California.

Leading us through the tasting, co-owner, Adam Chinchiolo 鈥05, will explain what cider is and how it is made. If you鈥檙e new to hard cider, or a veteran to the delicious fermented apple beverage, you鈥檒l enjoy Far West Cider Co. and this opportunity to connect with new and old friends.

Start your Homecoming @ Home Saturday morning with a live-streamed (or you can watch the recorded version afterward) sunrise from Burns Tower. What a wonderful way to start your Homecoming @ Home experience 鈥 from wherever you choose to watch! Weather permitting. Start time for this event is subject to change, based on sunrise.

To continue the tradition, the 15th Annual 91成人导航 5K Tiger Dash and 1/2-mile Cub Run will be all virtual in 2020, via Facebook and Instagram. The students of the Department of Physical Therapy Class of 2021 are excited to continue the long tradition of this event for our community. Mark your calendars and get your running shoes (and masks) ready!
