Welcome to the start of a new academic year at 91成人导航! Whether you鈥檙e a returning student, faculty, staff member, or a new member of our community, I want to take this moment to remind you: You belong here. 聽

In January 2020, Stockton, our home, was named the most racially and ethnically diverse large city in the United States by聽. On September 29, 91成人导航 celebrates 100 years of higher education at a campus considered one of the most stunningly beautiful in the nation. As someone who was born, raised and educated right here in Stockton, I can attest to the richness of this diversity and the greatness of our university and city.

At 91成人导航, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) isn't just a set of principles鈥攊t鈥檚 how we show love and belonging within our community. Just as I experienced growing up in a multicultural, multi-lingual and multi-religious neighborhood, you too will find that our Stockton, Sacramento and San Francisco campuses are places where different backgrounds, ideas and experiences come together to create a truly vibrant learning environment.

Our shared journey this year is guided by our , "I Never Thought of It That Way," by M贸nica Guzm谩n. This book encourages us to have fearlessly curious conversations, even when faced with deep divisions. It鈥檚 a reminder that curiosity, care and engagement are key to fostering understanding and connection. 聽聽

As we navigate this academic year, particularly with the upcoming presidential election, I encourage you to: 聽

• Be Curious: Ask questions, explore new perspectives and be open to learning from those around you.
• Show Care: Practice kindness, check in on each other and be compassionate in your interactions.
• 厂迟补测听贰苍驳补驳别诲: Participate actively in your classes, join student organizations and be a part of the events that bring us together as a community. 聽

Your time at 91成人导航 is an incredible opportunity to grow intellectually, develop critical thinking skills and prepare yourself to lead in an increasingly complex and diverse world. Remember, you are not just learning for today鈥攜ou are training to be the leaders and scholars the world needs.
