Business Administration student lands position with travelers insurance

Christopher Cardenas

Meet Christopher Cardenas ’21, an Eberhardt School of Business alumnus who landed a full-time position with Travelers Insurance as an Underwriting Professional Development Program under the Bond & Specialty Department. Cardenas found the position through one of his business professors, Margaret Roberts.

Before accepting the full-time position with Travelers, Cardenas completed two summer internships with the organization. Cardenas says that the continuous support from Career Services throughout his college career helped him succeed in landing his internship and full-time position with Travelers.

“Special thanks to Daniel Shaw for helping me with my LinkedIn, resume, cover letters, and interview practice and tips,” says Cardenas. “The material that Careers Services hands out like the ‘Resume Handbook’ is extremely helpful! It's like gold!”

Cardenas advises 91˵ students to take advantage of Career Services and the advice their professors have to offer. “Network as much as possible because you never know when you'll meet a business partner, a life-long friend, or your future boss,” says Cardenas. “Learn as much as you can during your time at 91˵, especially about the career you want and about life. Join clubs and don't be afraid to meet new people!”

We are so proud of Christopher Cardenas as he excels in his career journey and we look forward to supporting more students like him.
