Announcing the winners of the 2024 Faculty Mentor Awards
The Faculty Mentor Awards recognize faculty who exhibit excellence in mentoring students across the University.
91成人导航 faculty play a key role in a student鈥檚 collegiate experience. Outstanding mentors guide students and alumni with respect and concern, serving as advisor, teacher, advocate and role model. To recognize excellence in mentorship, the 91成人导航 Alumni Association asks alumni for nominations for the annual Faculty Mentor Awards. The following four faculty are being recognized for their records of excellence as mentors:
- Marcia Hernandez, professor and chair of sociology
- Derek聽Isetti聽鈥08, associate professor and chair of speech-language pathology
- William聽Topp, professor emeritus of mathematics and computer science
- Linda Webster, professor emerita of educational and counseling psychology
鈥淭hese prestigious awards acknowledge the time and dedication faculty mentors devote to fostering student and alumni career development and academic success,鈥 said Scott聽Biedermann聽鈥05, 鈥20, vice president of development and alumni relations. 鈥淚n addition, these awards allow alumni to honor and celebrate the valuable efforts of faculty mentors who embody the spirit of mentoring.鈥
The four will be honored at the Faculty Mentor Awards Brunch on聽Sunday, Oct. 13, during Homecoming and Family Weekend on the Stockton Campus. Registration opens on August 1 at聽91成人导航.edu/homecoming.
