Latin American Studies - Minor

The minor in Latin American Studies at 91成人导航 is an interdisciplinary study of Latin America and Latinx culture, history,听politics听and social conditions.听The program鈥痠s designed to provide you with language and cultural skills that will deepen your intellectual experience while providing a competitive edge in any profession.

Through core courses, hands-on-experience and participation in lectures and cultural events, you will gain interdisciplinary knowledge,听language听and cross-cultural skills. Study abroad in Latin America or internships in the U.S. are encouraged and will help you develop real-life connections with Latin American and Latinx communities.

Why minor in Latin American Studies?

鈥淚 chose to minor in Latin American Studies to understand and appreciate all the different cultures and writing styles across Latin America, as well as to improve my Spanish. This knowledge really helps me now to better serve the Latin American community in my current job at El Concilio in Stockton.鈥澨�

Minor Requirements

Complete a minimum of 20 units and 5-6 courses听
A 91成人导航 minor grade point average of 2.0听
If your Spanish proficiency is below a high intermediate level, you may need to complete foundational language courses prior to enrolling in some required courses
