Job Requirements
- Nationally-certified and state-licensed speech-language pathologist or audiologist
- A minimum of three years of clinical experience in a professional environment working with children and/or adults who have speech/language delays or disorders
- Willingness to serve as a master clinician for speech-language pathology students
- Annual HIPAA training
- Annual sexual harassment training
- FERPA training
- Background check
Job Duties
- Supervise and assist (as needed) diagnostic evaluations
- Supervise and provide (when appropriate) clinical services
- Provide parent/family education through various activities, including joint observations
- Assist the clinic director with carrying out the mission and goals of our speech/language clinics
- Coursework in supervision is highly recommended
- Assist student clinicians with developing diagnostic and therapy plans, writing reports and developing treatment goals/objectives
- Provide feedback to students, both written and oral
- Correct and provide written feedback for junior/senior clinicians completing observations and assignments
- Provide student midterm and final evaluations in CALIPSO
Job Responsibilities
- Provide supervision for a total of 1-5 hours per day (depending on your contract), typically supervising two student clinicians per hour. Occasionally a clinical instructor may be assigned three student clinicians per hour.
- Provide each student clinician with a minimum of 25% direct supervision. However, our expectation is for greater direct supervision as needed to meet the needs of the particular student clinician and/or client.
- Complete semester supervision log to document supervision time for ASHA accreditation requirements. Must submit written log to the clinic director and/or office manager on the last day of the semester.
- Schedule one-two hours per week (depending on the number of hours and students being supervised 鈥 2-4 students = one hour per week; 5-8 students = two hours per week) for 鈥渘ondirect鈥 supervision; such activities include parent meetings, case conferences with student clinician, report writing instruction, etc. NOTE: some of these activities do not need to take place on-site and can take place via email and/or by phone.
