:听鈥淢y priority for instructing doctor of audiology students is to provide a well-rounded education in audiological methods and care. It is important to engage students in order to impart excellence in the foundational concepts of hearing and the vestibular system, while providing efficient procedures built on evidence-based practice. I strive to teach students to be an advocate, resource and collaborator for patients and families who are managing hearing impairment. With these skills, students can enlighten patients with accurate knowledge, empower them to accept and own their hearing loss and assist them to effectively manage their disorder. Developing critical thinking skills is essential in my teachings and mentorship. To achieve this, I implement a combination of demonstration and facilitation. In clinical settings, I employ supervised guidance yet foster independence. My objective for clinical education is to create a safe learning environment that allows a student to develop skills toward autonomy by the end of their term.鈥
